Environment

Paper industry is an intensive consumer of natural resources, namely water, energy and vegetable fibres. However, and particularly due to technological advances, it is possible to adopt operational solutions of increased efficiency. Conscious of the impact of its activity, Fapajal identified the main productive factors that should be managed to ensure the conscious and moderate use of natural resources – air, energy, water, natural fibres.

Having the ambition to contribute to the recognition of the paper sector as a model of the circular bio-economy, Fapajal commits to minimize the residues originated by its activity, which in many cases are reused in the production of paper. It also undertakes to refine and improve the production processes and to return the treated resources to the environment, all with the aim of minimizing their environmental impact.
